Happy New Year!

Today was the first day back to work and the end of a much needed break from the new job! I was happy to go back to work this morning for the first time that I can remember in a LONG time, though, so that makes it a Happy New Year for me!

I spent Christmas with Dave's family in Akron, OH. His family was so sweet to me and I really enjoyed my time with them. The food was so yummy - I ate more in in 3 days than I usually do in a week!

After Christmas I headed back north to collect the kitties and head for the cottage. That was a lot of driving in one day! Thankfully, all 1200 miles were driven in a '05 Wrangler courtesy of Chrysler! Gas was on me, but the miles were free! It was a great opportunity to get dialed into the "old" product so that I can know where we're at in comparison with the new vehicles. I had a whole page of notes!

The cottage was full of activity since all the Hancocks (including Kristie!) were able to be together to enjoy some relaxation "up north". Dave's plans to go to California to play in the dunes fell through, so he joined us on Thursday as well, It was a full house! The weather didn't cooperate much for skiing as the temperatures remained above freezing for most of the week. We made the most of it by sledding on the ICE at Avalanche Mountain! Everybody got good air on the tubes! Check them out at http://shannonlynn.shutterfly.com/action/?a=8CbNHLVw4ZtJO. On Friday night before new year's eve, the temperature dropped and the snow started to fly! Boyne Highlands got almost 6" so we made plans to wake up early Saturday morning and get to the hill! Leah and Mike joined us for a great day of "Michigan" powder! Kristie learned how to snowboard and Dave enjoyed his first day on the new "Torsional Management System" (I'm sure I got that wrong even though he reminded us all day!) equipment and everyone had a great time negotiating the soft moguls and crowded slopes!

New Year's Eve was a nice low-key night at home with family and friends and jello shots! We played cards and laughed and ate Mom's yummy stew and I think everyone had a great time.

No New Year's resolutions for me... if it's worth doing, why should I wait for some special day? Do it now! Cheers!
